You've got a logo design that you love, but are struggling with creating a cohesive brand identity that marries alllllll your visuals together.
Let's work together to determine the direction for your Brand, including additional Brandmark assets, colour palette, font pairings and a snazzy Brand Guide that will help you stay consistent across your business.
Want some extra's? Add-on some Canva Templates, animated GIF stickers, custom Graphic Elements & much more!
We start from scratch to determine the Brand Identity based on a comprehensive Branding Questionnaire and Pinterest moodboards. This option is ideal if you need a suite of professionally designed logos, with a killer matching visual identity. We'll work together to refine the concepts, and once approved you'll get a slick Google Drive folder filled with all your new assets.
Your comprehensive Brand Guide will tell you how to use the logos, fonts, colours and give you some examples of your Brand style in mockups.
If you already have a logo, and are considering the Refresh, there's a couple of things to keep in mind:
I'm all here for DIY (did you know I'm an approved Canva Creator?!)
But, there are limitations to the file types that come with DIY logo design. For example, you may have found if you make your logo too big or too small that it gets pixellated... That's because .png and .jpeg are raster files.
When designers create logos, we create them in vector format (.eps, .ai, .pdf) to ensure scalability - like one day putting your logo on a truck or billboard. Or even to get it printed on a flyer.
There are other limitations to DIY logos, such as if you have exclusive use of the symbols, graphics and fonts. If you need to trademark your logo, you will need a unique and custom logo.
Also, is your DIY logo really attracting your ideal audience?
If you have a logo, and just want it spruced up a little, there may be a way that we can work together.
Book in a free consult, and let's have a chat!

“I booked a 15-minute discovery call with Brodi-Rose just looking for some general advice on the branding I’d attempted on my own for my soon-to-be-launched business. After chatting with her for 2 minutes I knew that I wanted her to help me rework it!
With lightning speed, Bro elevated my branding, creating a polished, professional and personality-filled logo that represents me and my service offering perfectly. Lean in, let me tell you something that will change your life (ok, well at least your business). Pinterest is the perfect tool for growing your service-based business! Contrary to somewhat popular opinion, Pinterest isn’t “Just another app to deal with” It’s a platform that millions of users are cruising every single day, searching for topics related to what you do.
So, what’s in it for you? Just a little something called traffic on a direct route to your website! Pinterest is likened to driving down a highway and viewing billboards of your business along the way. Your audience is searching (Googling, if you will) specifically what you offer, just waiting for you to pop up and catch that sought after website click.

Here's are some illustrations I offer, and the variety of different styles:
This illustration style is perfect for up-close portraits that focus on capturing personal features such as eyes, mouth and skin tones. This style appeals to audiences where there are personal connections (i.e. wedding photos, family portraits and gifts).
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that have a lot of personal and human connection. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; family consulting, family law, in-home care, support work and more.
This illustration style is modern, and is perfect to appeal to a younger audience aged 15-35. This style is usually paired with inspirational quotes, or strong digital marketing campaigns. With minimal facial features, this style communicates a message without the personal connection to the person/object.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are putting out a lot of digital content to appeal to their audience. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; social media managers, virtual assistants, online business managers.
This is perfect for highlighting products, or particulars scenes with props. There are minimalist facial features but still depicts a human connection.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are conveying specific meanings in their graphics. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; product based businesses, apparel ranges, bloggers and more.
This illustration style has gaps in-between key shapes. This style is perfect for digital content that gets reduced in size, or where the illustration is highlighting body of text so doesn't need to be too complex.
Similarly to the other minimalist styles, when using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are putting out a lot of digital content to appeal to their audience and still have a human connection. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; coaches, beauty businesses, support businesses, and product based businesses.
This illustration style is a minimalist block style illustration with minimal facial feature. It's perfect for highlighting apparel or props. It uses shadow to create depth. This style appeals to an audience aged 15-50.
Similarly to the other minimalist styles, when using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are putting out a lot of digital content to appeal to their audience and still have a human connection. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; beauty businesses, apparel businesses, and product based businesses.
This illustration style uses lines to create movement rather than shadows. This style is perfect for scene setting, or showcasing groups of people. This style of illustration is both contemporary and professional. It would appeal to a large audience.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are building a community and need graphics that would appeal to a wide audience. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; community groups, health professionals and support businesses.
This illustration style is line art to create an outline of a product or person. This style appeals to a contemporary audience aged 12-40, and is a great way to communicate an item or message without colour.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are quite bold with their branding and need illustrations to compliment their style (but not compete with it). For example, this style would suit businesses such as; beauty brands, empowerment coaches or wellness brands.
This illustration style focuses on landscapes with custom additions, such as this example of a growing concrete jungle. This style appeals to a large audience.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are needing visuals for specific scenes. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; location-based businesses, holiday businesses or advenure providers (think a tiki-beach business that needs an illustration of their vibin' shack).
This cartoon-style illustration is perfect for digital marketing, packaging or websites. These icons are small, yet pack a punch. They use shadow and outlines to create recognisable shapes. While the images depicted here are for a younger audience, stickers can appeal to a wide audience depending on the context. On packaging they can make information pop, or as moving GIFS on social media.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are needing specific icons in their branding. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; product based businesses, health and wellness businesses, hospitality businesses.
This illustration style focuses on block shapes and high contrast shadows along with facial features. This style appeals to a corporate and professional audience.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that are putting out illustration content for a specific purpose. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; professional services, corporate products, large-audience based businesses.
This illustration style combines line art with a watercolour-like in-fill. This style appeals to women aged 25-60.
When using this style in branding, I recommend it for brands that have a specific female audience. For example, this style would suit businesses such as; beauty brands, service-based providers for women, wedding gown designers and couture brands.

I don't create brands in Canva, no no no. I still use my beloved Adobe Creative Suite for building Brands and design assets. But, there's definitely an element of my design agency that embraces Canva.

To put it simply, it's a free platform that allows people to make their own graphics. They have a bank of templates, or you can start designing from scratch. They simplify editing, and encourage businesses and entrepreneurs to create for themselves. You can use it on your smartphone with the app, download the desktop app or just use it in your browser. They also have a Pro feature (where you pay per month) to get access to more in-depth features like premium assets and photos, as well as their funky background removal). Well, you know when Uber took over and every time you jumped in a Taxi there was a cranky (usually smelly) old guy talking about how Uber was the WORST?
It's like that. Canva has disrupted the design industry but I'm a HUGE believer that it's not taking away my clients. It's educating my clients and empowering them and I'm jumping straight on-board that band wagon. With the technology age moving so fast, we need to be open-minded and adaptable!
It empowers my clients to create their own visuals and graphics.
Yes, there's definitely still a need for a designer for print designs such as books and magazine layouts, but in terms of digital content such as social posts, e-books, PPT presentations, I really love Canva.
Think about how much easier it is going to make it for small businesses to:
✨ Create social media posts
✨ Create lead magnets for their website
✨ Write and publish an e-book
✨ Create designed slides for their next online course
✨ Design website and e-newsletter graphics
I don't create logos or branding assets in Canva. Logos need to be vector artwork, and when building in Canva you're building with raster icons and fonts (pixels). So in my opinion, you're definitely still better off getting the help of a designer for your assets.
But once you've got your brand assets, Canva is a game-changer.
I build social media templates for my Brand Design clients, where I load up all of their finalised designs such as logos, icons, graphic elements, colours, typography and then create re-usable templates.
Not only do I build custom templates for clients, I also build general templates that are available on my website for purchase (with instant access) as well as Creative Market (chuck me a follow and I'll HEART you forever). Oh and I also build directly for Canva!

After experiencing some shitty bosses in the corporate world, alongside some early entrepreneurial inklings, it was almost inevitable for Brodi to do her own thing. With naive fearlessness, she launched her own graphic design business and hasn’t looked back.
Well, it’s funny because retrospectively I was always on the path to being a business owner. As a kid, I used to ‘employ’ my younger siblings to do a job and pay them a wage. I’ll be honest, I paid them to search the house and cars for coins. It makes me laugh now, but I guess the business side of it started early.
Same with the artistic and creative side. My Grandma is an incredible artist which was a huge influence as a child. It was peaceful and calm in a world of chaos. We would sit together and paint, and she used to enter my paintings into galleries and art competitions. I kept painting all through my teenage years, and my creative side was always at the foremost of my abilities. When I was 16, I started Uni (Bachelor of Arts; Creative Writing). I was average in my classes except for art. I excelled in all of my art classes, to the point that after handing in a sketch, my teacher called me out in front of the entire class. In hindsight, it was such a compliment. As the youngest in the class with plenty of mature-aged students around me, I was mortified. It wasn’t long after that happened that I deferred and decided that I needed to work out what I wanted to do with my life because I didn’t want to spend 4 years doing a degree to become a writer if that’s not what I wanted (or was any good at).
Fast forward and in 2017 I completed my studies as a Graphic Designer at Shillington School of Design. I did a night-class, which as a self-proclaimed early bird, absolutely killed me. 2017 was the hardest, but the most worthwhile experience of my life. From there, I’ve spent the last 3 years building my experience, portfolio and connections to be a freelance Graphic Designer, specialising in brand design.
For over 5 years I’ve been employed (and still am) by an AH-MAZING Event Management company. Since finishing my Graphic Design course, I’ve been doing freelancing before work, during my lunch break, after work and on the weekends. Man, the first couple of years of freelancing are H.A.R.D. The hustle is real, and passion is what keeps you motivated. My current role is an Event Coordinator and Graphic Designer. In January 2020, I decided to go part-time which my employer supported, and I’ve been slowly increasing the time I’ve been able to dedicate to my own business.
I’ve been lucky enough to work for some crappy companies and a**hole bosses. I worked for a large telco for a bit over 3 years, which really shaped my conflict resolution and communication skills. But it was a HARD slog because it was a toxic work environment and I didn’t like the company. I’ve also had terrible bosses, like the one who used to refer to me as “His Bi*ch”. I say that I was lucky enough to work for them because each crappy employer has pushed me into the path of being a freelancer. I’ve learnt so much about myself and other people, that I’m now ready to be my own boss. With every experience comes knowledge, lessons and perspective. Without those experiences, I don’t think I’d be the motivated and passionate business owner that I am today!
The final push to become a freelancer was from the buzz I got from helping someone set up their business. My first few clients were just starting out and had no idea where to start to brand their business, set up a website or even register an ABN. So I helped, and I loved it! Most of my design work was pro-bono when I started out, so it was just seeing someone that needed help and jumping straight in. When I started getting better, figuring out a process, working out what kind of design really got my blood pumping that’s when I niched down and got to really encompass who I am now as a freelancer. We all start somewhere, and it just happens that I was lucky enough to start off with a passion for design and helping people.
I was naively fearless. I didn’t realise how much work and time would go into being a freelancer, but on the other end of the scale, I also didn’t know how much I could love working and how motivational it would be to work for myself. I’m lucky enough that I had the financial freedom of working for an employer on the side while growing my business. Because I wasn’t stressed with earning an income, it really allowed me to focus on doing what I loved to do, which has come down to designing for women in business.
AM: 5am - wake up, make a coffee and jump online in my PJ’s. I use this time for self-development like doing an ecourse or working on a personal project. 6am - I start my day working on client work that’s exciting; it really gets my blood pumping for the entire day when I start off with something that I’m really dedicated to. 7am - take my doggo Lola for a walk, get a coffee. I shower and get ready like I’m going into the office. Showing up as your best self reallllly makes a difference when I jump back online. 8am - back online, building brands and doing what I love. 10am - 12pm - dedicate time to my part-time employer (reduced hours due to COVID-19). PM: 12pm - eat lunch. 12:20pm-3pm - get the last of my work out of the way. 3pm-4pm - spend some time on my business doing accounts, invoicing and writing my to-do list for the next day. Evening: 6pm dinner and some TV. 7:30pm bedtime - some people laugh at this, but I really love my sleep!
Yikes, how has it not? It definitely impacted my part-time job in the events industry, with all of our conferences for the year cancelling. But luckily I had freelance work to fall back onto as a safety net and also to keep me busy! No Netflix binge sesh’s for me. Not being able to leave the house and have the freedom of doing things I love like going to a cafe or the markets definitely took a toll on me in the first month. But, I started working on my mindset with things like affirmations, reading self-help books and exercise. I’ve never really been one for regular exercise, I was always too busy. Now I take my dog Lola for a walk errrryday (I’m such an adult) and it’s actually become a highlight of my day. A positive is that I get to spend more time envisioning the life I want to live, and I've started to take steps in that direction instead of filling my days with things that need to be done with no real direction.
I absolutely adored working with Rachel from Harley Reid—a boutique kids and baby store. We did a rebrand from a DIY logo to a new brand. I also helped her refresh the branding on their website. I just love the final product because it’s appealing, minimalist and the client really loves it which comes through in her business. Click here to check it out. Best thing about freelancing? Being my own boss; if I wanna crank the tunes, no one will tell me to turn it down.
It does get a bit lonely (especially due to COVID) so I’m super grateful to Cool Wow Collective for having co-working sessions where I get to have a yarn and virtually see other humans! They’re all badass babes who are freelancers, so it’s great to connect with like-minded women. What advice would you give to someone just starting out on their freelancer journey? Don’t spend your time; invest your time. Focus on ways that you can invest your time to make passive income and open up more earning revenue streams. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket by only having one main client etc. COVID has taught us that we should have a few eggs in a couple of baskets.
In the last month, I’ve focused on reducing the number of clients that I’m taking on in order to work on diversifying my business revenue. I’m investing time into learning how to create digital products to bring in passive revenue. As a designer, I’m lucky because there’s a market out there for premade graphics, templates, fonts and more. My passion is still working with clients, I just want to establish some passive revenue streams and build that side of my biz.
Tea or coffee? COFFEEEEEEE
Introvert or extrovert? Extrovert Fo Shizzle
Earlybird or night owl? Earlybird….it’s currently 5:28am as I type this LOL
Home office or coworking space? Hmmm….coworking space
Emails or calls? Love a good chat
Paper or digital to-do list? Digital to-do’s
Books or podcasts? I LOVE THEM ALL DON’T MAKE ME PICK! I’m really digging audiobooks for when I’m in the car or going for walks...but I also love a good poddy.
I hope you enjoyed my interview with Cool Wow Collective. They're an AWESOME group of freelancers that I meet with weekly, and have truly changed my business in the last year. Head on over to their website, and if you decide to join, make sure you let them know I sent you 🤓✨

Ahhh yes. This old chestnut.
There's actually A LOT of file types that you need for your business. It's not OK to only have your logo in one format, in .png or .jpeg. You'll never be able to scale with those kinds of limitations!
So here's a bit about what files types you should be asking your designer for and why.
One of the most frequent questions I get asked about from my clients is what does the word ‘vector’ mean. Well, in designer lingo this is the designer files that can be enlarged exponentially and still remain clear and crisp (with no blurry edges or distortion). Your designer should provide you with the final files in a raster format that’s accessible to you (such as .pdf, .png, .jpeg) as well as the designer vector files (.eps, .ai) for future use.
The way I describe it to my clients is that the vector files will be used for any high resolution print jobs, including the day we put your logo on a billboard. While you may not be able to open the .ai or .eps files on your computer, any future designer that you use will be able to open these and these files are like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Always keep these files safe!
Raster files
.png, .jpeg, .psd, .gif, .raw, .tiff
Raster images are constructed by a series of pixels, or individual blocks, to form an image. Every photo is a raster image. Pixels have a defined proportion based on their resolution (high or low) and if pixels are stretched larger than intended, they become pixellated, resulting in blurry or distorted images (we don't like this)! A brand should never be sharing, printing or distributing blurry collateral.
Vector Image Files
.ai, .eps, .pdf, .indd
Vector images are the bomb-diggity. They’re not limited by pixels, so can be used for really small print jobs through to really large print jobs (imagine your logo on a billboard or truck). Your logo and brand graphics should have been created as a vector, and you should always have a master file on hand. Even though the above file types are vector files, raster files can still be inserted into these documents (such as photographs or raster graphics). An image isn’t truly vector unless it has outlines and can be enlarged without pixelation.
JPEG (or JPG) - Joint Photographic Experts Group
JPEGs are very common for web-use; the quality of the image decreases as the file size decreases.
PNG - Portable Network Graphics
PNGs are amazing for interactive documents such as web pages, but are not suitable for print.
GIF - Graphics Interchange Format
Whoop whoop! Who doesn’t love a good GIF? This is a common file type for web projects where an image needs to load very quickly, as opposed to one that needs to retain a higher level of quality.
GIF's are also a great way to communicate through funny little movies that just keep looping! Who doesn't love a good GIF, amiright? Hot tip: your designer can make GIF's so if you need one for your biz, get onto it - they're so hot right now.
TIFF - Tagged Image File
A TIF is a large raster file that doesn't lose quality.
PSD - Photoshop Document
The largest disadvantage to PSDs is that Photoshop works with raster images as opposed to vector images.
PDF - Portable Document Format
If a designer saves your vector logo in PDF format, you can view it without any design editing software (as long as you have downloaded the free Acrobat Reader software), and they have the ability to use this file to make further manipulations. This is by far the best universal tool for sharing graphics.
EPS - Encapsulated Postscript
EPS is a file in vector format that has been designed to produce high-resolution graphics for print. Almost any kind of design software can create an EPS.
AI - Adobe Illustrator Document
AI is, by far, the image format most preferred by designers and the most reliable type of file format for using images in all types of projects from web to print, etc.
INDD - Adobe Indesign Document
INDDs (Indesign Document) are files that are created and saved in Adobe Indesign. Indesign is commonly used to create larger publications, such as newspapers, magazines and eBooks.
RAW - Raw Image Formats
A RAW image is the least-processed image type on this list -- it's often the first format a picture inherits when it's created. When you snap a photo with your camera, it's saved immediately in a raw file format.
Have you heard your designer talk about DPI or PPI? DPI stands for "dots per inch" and PPI translates to "pixels per inch." These units of measure are essential for determining if the density of pixels in an image is appropriate for the application you are using.
The biggest thing to note when determining what DPI or PPI you require is if you are using an image for print or web. Websites display images at 72dpi, which is low resolution; however images at this resolution look really crisp on the web. This is not the case for print. Best practices for printing an image will require it to be no less than 300dpi.
Your designer isn’t a magician (although, I can do a couple of card tricks). A lot of magic can happen in Photoshop, but creating pixels out of thin air isn't one of them. Pulling an image off of the web and trying to get it to fit the dimensions of your print project just won't work. You will end up with a pixelated image that appears stretched and distorted - which we totally don’t want.
If you don’t have your business branding in vector files, it’s time for you to talk to a designer about getting your brand digital.

As a designer, I get asked a lot to design a 'quick logo'...which is like asking a builder to build a house without a blueprint. They could probably put together a kick-ass cubby house or cabin, but they can't build a double-storey, 4 bedroom, 2 bath mansion without a plan.
While a logo is a key element in a brand's identity; it's not the only hero.
There are 3 terms that will help you understand what I'm talking about. There's your brand which is overall how people perceive your company. Then there’s branding which are the actions you take to build a certain image of your company, then the motherland is your brand identity. This is the collection of brand elements that together create one brand image. A logo for example is a key element to your brand identity, but there’s also your colours, typography, voice, graphic elements and more.
Your brand identity should be a well thought out strategy. The way your business's branding elements come together should be appealing to your target audience. When developing your brand identity, you need to be focused on who your ideal client is, what problem your business is solving for them and why they need your service/product.
Design is the visual tool of communication. Your branding should be sending a message to your target audience about who you are, what you do and why they need you. Your designer will use the design principles (hierarchy, repetition, balance, contrast, alignment, colour, typography) to put together your brand identity and there should be purpose for the elements in which they use.
Branding/design without intention is simply decoration.
Logo - your brands mark. This can be a suite of logos that all represent your brands mark, including formats like landscape, stacked, monogram and more.
Colour - colour has so much meaning, for example when we see green we think of nature but it's also known to represent money.
Typography - font choice, typesetting.
Illustration - does illustration speak to your target audience? This can be linked with your graphic elements.
Photography - the photography style, editing and more can all count towards your brand identity.
Graphic elements - it could be a pattern, sub-mark, icons or illustration that all count towards the graphic elements of your brands identity.
Tone of voice - your brands intention, how they connect with the audience and the story you have to tell should all be considered with your tone of voice.
I highly recommend that you source a designer who has experience in brand identity. Good design will cost money, but I can't even begin to describe how much bad design will cost you.
The final files that a professional design can give you include all the vector files that you would need to get things professionally printed (like business cards, uniforms, brochures etc). Many of my clients come to me with .png logos that simply can't be used for high resolution printing.
A good brand designer will ask you questions like:
Unsure about your next step? Don't worry, it can be a little daunting. Feel free to book in for my free 20 minute consults to discuss your brand.
Not sure if your branding is any good? Let's do a Brand Audit to check.
